Embedded System Development

HWI is known for embedded system development. Our engineers are experienced with using a wide variety of platforms and processors to create real-world solutions for specialized tasks. We develop precise and reliable systems ranging anywhere from impact detection in sports technology to bioelectrical monitoring in the highly regulated medical arena. HWI excels at the basics of writing low-level drivers and hardware control, while also completing extremely complex solutions such as developing a wearable device from hardware through software. We also have experience driving full turn-key solutions encompassing electromechanical integration. Embedded systems is our specialty.

IoT Full Stack Development

HWI develops IoT products through the entire stack: from design of electrical hardware to writing the firmware running on the hardware, as well as developing and deploying the cloud software and infrastructure for connectivity-enabled devices. We have created devices that use various communication techniques, including Bluetooth and WiFi, to communicate with computers, phones, and the cloud. On the cloud side, we have engineers working on both the front-end and back-end, to create aesthetically pleasing sites with good server and speed performance. HWI truly develops solutions along the entire stack.

RF Communications

We have experience not only in technologies such as those commonly used for IoT (Bluetooth and WiFi, for example), but also more broadly in RF design and development.  Our employees and customers alike come from widely known RF hotspots such as Ball Aerospace and Qualcomm to offer cutting edge wireless technology integration into our designs. RF is a notoriously difficult and costly aspect of product development; our engineers help our clients with both the development of a product and with the testing of it such as Electromagnetic Interference and Electromagnetic Compatibility. From design through regulatory, HWI smooths our clients' RF product development process.
